Here at Winterborne Bicycles we focus all of our bicycle production using one material, steel. The Metallurgists will tell you that high quality bicycle specific steels are in fact an iron/carbon alloy with the additional elements of chrome, nickel, manganese, and molybdenum. But here at Winterborne we like to wear our hats backwards so lets just call it 4130!

 More to the point we use bicycle specific tubing produced by the finest makers of double and triple butted tube sets, currently available to framebuilders. Bicycle tube producers like Columbus, True Temper, and Deddacci, are at the forefront of pushing steel further than ever thought before, thinning the walls and strengthening the tubes to produce a ride quality that only steel can give. It's when these wonderful tubes get in the hands of an experienced framebuilder when the magic happens. Selecting just the right tube for a bicycles end use, and rider preferences, will produce a ride unlike any other.
