Position: Service Coordinator
Job Description: The Service Coordinator is the first point of contact for customers needing service on their bike. Apart from broad mechanical knowledge, listening skills are the most important quality of the service writer. Customers of all varieties will approach the service writer with needs for their bike. Patience is also a very important skill. The Service Writer will be performing light repairs and will also need on certain days to work as a mechanic on work orders.
Job Description:
Writing work orders for bicycles needing repair
Advising customers when parts need to be replaced and recommended service that will allow the bike to perform better
Effective and professional communication with customers so they understand what work needs to be done to their bike
Ability to maintain quota for add-ons per bike, such as recommending performance upgrades and components upgrades
Checking over new bike purchases and installing accessories
Answering service phone calls and emails
Check work email and respond at the beginning and end of every shift
First point of contact if the mechanics have questions about work orders
Ensures the service writing area is always clean and tidy
Create mechanic’s schedule with Service Manager
Share product knowledge and enthusiasm for bikes with customers
Familiarity with all brands of Parts and Accessories we stock
Build and maintain relationships with customers
Familiarity with all our bike brands and models we stock
Assist in store operations, when necessary
Qualifications:
Previous experience not required but is recommended. Especially Bicycle mechanic and diagnostic knowledge.
The skills & traits that are necessary are that you are outgoing, enthusiastic, sociable, gregarious with a positive attitude, problem solving skills, strong interpersonal relationship skills.
